Flexi Cap Mutual Fund · Grow my money, Save for a goal
A flexi cap fund can invest anywhere across large, mid, and small companies without a fixed minimum in any one bucket — the manager moves the money to wherever they see the best opportunity. Think of it as giving your driver full freedom over the route instead of insisting on a fixed road. This flexibility can help in changing markets, but it also means results depend heavily on the manager's judgement.
SEBI created the flexi cap category in November 2020 after many 'multi cap' funds were seen concentrating almost entirely in large caps. Flexi cap has no minimum allocation requirement across market caps, giving fund managers full discretion — multi cap funds, by contrast, must now hold at least 25% each in large, mid, and small caps.
Investors who want one fund that can shift between large, mid, and small caps as opportunities change.
You'd rather control the large/mid/small cap mix yourself rather than delegate it to a manager.
Fund-level AUM, expense ratio, and returns change frequently — check the fund house's current factsheet before investing.
